Hmm that's really neat.
I wonder if the device is able to power a 2.5inch USB drive.

Now that this product is announced, can anyone say whether they've had a chance to play with a prototype? Or will that have to wait until Bella starts shipping?

I'm curious to see if Bella managed to avoid the reliability issues that have plagued the Firestore and Citidisk DV units.

I think this is a cool product. Although I will miss sitting back the evening of a shoot, having a drink and reviewing the footage as it's being captured. I always enjoyed that part.

It must be me then.. coz i REALLY REALLY REALLY hate capturing... now.. i mean it. i really friggin hate it.. in the old canopus storm days, i used to run 3 decks and capture them all at once without skipping a beat.. the fact that 1394 can handle 400mbps and were only using 25mbps per stream makes me wondei why noone else has done this.. .. it was brilliant.. i wish theyd do somethign like that for vegas.. i mean i dont se why they cant.. .. anyways..

it rally must be me then, coz I hate it so much, that ive built a dedicated ssystem, simply for capturing and burning.. while i edit, i capture on another machine and find that works quite well and is much more efficient than wasting hours on end unable to do any significant work on the Finishing system while its capturing. At least this way, i can capture and edit at the same time..

I still ahte capturing.. GGGGGRRRR LOL
