best adobe media encoder format to re-render footage for Vegas 22?

The footage coming from my r6 are huge file sizes so I re-render everything through media encoder and ive always chosen mp4 264 match source settings. The performance with my Vegas 22 with these re-rendered files is pretty slow. Is there a better format to re-render in media encoder that would give me faster playback in Vegas?

  • Vegas 22 latest path
  • WINDOWS 11 64 BIT
  • AMD RYZEN 9 5900X 12 Core 3.7GHZ
  • 96 DDR4
  • Radeon RX 7900 XTX

The Proxy Render feature in Vegas works just fine for practically everybody.

For your R6 footage, which doesn't handle well in editors, and assuming you want a Digital Intermediate and not a Proxy, I prefer ProRes 422 format, which has perfect quality and good handling performance on the Vegas timeline.
