Staples and Office Max both have deals as well - 120 gig drives for under $100. Staples has Maxtor and Office Max has WD. As is the case both have "instant" rebates and both have the mail in for the final total.

I've seen + and - DVD burners for under $150 in local papers.

Best drive deal I've ever gotten was with Circuit City about 6 months ago. Someone blew it and advertised a WD 120GB drive for $179 minus $30 instant rebate minus $60 minus $80. They had meant to offer just one of the big rebates, but the web site showed both. I bought the drive, and for a while they said they couldn't give the $80 rebate, since I didn't have the original UPC included. I replied that BOTH rebates asked for the original rebate, and that Circuit City personnel had provided me with a document vouching for the purchase. Finally, WD apparently threw up its hands and handed the mess over to Circuit City, which was responsible for the rebate mistake in the first place. Just got my final rebate check last month. Net price for a 120GB drive: $9.95.

Does Vegas+DVD support the Sony DRU-510A? I look it up and they do not mention that model #. Is anyone using it with success???

I have had problems trying to use DVDA with two different Sony 510s.

In a worst case you could create the VIDEO_TS folder with Vegas and then burn to the new drive with a burning program like Nero. In my experience it's quite common to use a burning program to to the actual write, regardless of the the authoring program.

Wouldn't I lose my menus, buttons, and chapter points if I do not use Vegas to burn?

Thanks!

All the menues, buttons, etc. are stored in the VIDEO_TS folder. As long as you've used DVD-A to prepare the disc image, it will all be included. Simply use Nero to burn that folder to a DVD blank as a data disc.

Thanks so much. Always wondered if I could burn with a different program when I run into problems.
