Best compression format.

What would be your vote for the best (least degraded) video format for archiving video clips to DVD?
I've heard suggestions from .MP2 and .MP4, also .AVI and .MOV (Quick time) Thanks in advance. -Dizzy G

avi is best for archiving if you ever plan on editing again.
MPEG 2 at a high bitrate is good, but Windows9 at high bitrates is better than MPEG2.
