Best container to edit in Vegas Pro 14

Hello, all I am thinking of using Vegas 14 and if I like will upgrade to 15. I using Sony video camera which shoots in AVCHD .mts and was wondering what codec to cover it to WAV QT or MPEG2. Which container should I cover my video too for smooth editing?

Leave it as AVCHD. Vegas will handle that format fine.

Agreed, HD avchd should work fine. But if your computer is very old / slow, you might have problems. Then you could investigate (forum search) using low resolution proxies or (maybe) intermediates like cineform or XAVC intra. This workflow is much more complex.
