Best Methods To Export From Imovie 11 ToVegas Pro

Hi all,

I have the following issue and need recommendations on how to resolve it:

I have video that was shot with a Canon HG-10 hd digital camcorder that was dumped into Imovie 11 on a mac book pro last February while on a cruise for safekeeping.

Now I want to export the footage out of Imovie and import it into Vegas. My question is: what is the best option to export the footage out while keeping the video as close to hd quality as possible and then importing it into Vegas?

Thanks,

Arthur

How about copying the original source file over to your PC? No export necessary.

Hi,

If you are referring to the original files that resided in the camcorder, the hd in the camcorder is only 40gb. After each day's events or when I filled up the hd, I loaded the resulting raw footage into Imovie for storage only on the mac laptop. When I got home the plan was to somehow export the files out of the mac and into Vegas.

But if you are talking about the files in Imovie, I'd love to do so if the files I copy are in a format that Vegas will recognize and import with no problem. I just don't want to degrade the hd quality of the raw footage.

I'm going to try and copy the files saved in Imovie and see if I can import them into Vegas while retaining the hd quality and report back.

Thanks,

Arthur
