Just wanted to ask if I lose anything by rendering portions of a video that I'm working on before the whole vid has been edited.

There are sections that have some particularly tricky edits, pans, crops, etc. I want to make sure I don't lose those due to things like crashes, or "stupid-human-tricks". But I also don't want to lose any overall resolution by rendering that section to avi (or is there a better choice for this?). Doesn't look like I would but just wanted to check with the gurus here.
