um... not sure what you need to download, but just start a new project. no reason to delete anything to start anew.

Is it size=space availability on your hard disc/s that is the issue? If this is the case the actual VEG file is truly tiny. What takes up space is the media - that'll take up the space. So, if you need to make space then, after considering if you OK to do this, you'd need to delete the media? Do you have a backup of media for future reference? OR get more bigger hard drives. But I'm guessing you knew that already?

As HF says, just start a new Veg project and that's it. I have zillions of them which I backup and offload to DVDs as data discs - done!

Hi. Thanks for the answers. I need info on how to delete the media files.
I had the Scene detection button on by mistake and have 191 clips of a 60 minute interview.
I want to delete all traces of those clips and dl again.

So, what the best way to get rid of that media? Is it fro the Registry perhaps or just through Explorer?

Thanks,
Bill K./

Assuming you want to keep the project, clear them off the Vegas timeline, go into the Project Media tab, select all relevant clips, right-click them and select Remove from project and delete file(s).
Click the Capture Video icon and recapture the footage, making sure to disable Scene Detection this time.

Hi. I did as you suggested but have not dl'd the footage yet.

I saw listings for the clips under the Media Manager as "Resolve Offline Media"
One of the actions is to "Remove from Library"
Should I go ahead and delete them from the Library to really get rid of them? Space wise also?

Try to let me know.

Thanks, This is helping me out...

Sorry Bill but, as I've never used Media Manager, I can't offer any advice on this.

If you've deleted the files from the hard drive then they are gone. That's really all there is to it.

Now, as for seeing references to them in Media Manager or in old .veg files, that merely means that you once upon a time told Media Manager that they existed, or that you used them in a Vegas project, and that Media Manager or Vegas haven't been told they've been deleted. In fact, the message you quote shows that Media Manager now knows it can't find the file anymore and is asking if that is true. Ergo, the file is gone, just as you wanted.
