Best Settings for DVD burning

Hi,

I'm trying to get the best quality I can for a DVD project.

I'm using Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 7 which includes DVD Architect.

Will I get optimal results by just using the default DVD settings or should I go in and tweak some things? If tweaking is recommended, what should I change?

Thanks!

You can't tweak anything on Vegas Platinum, only on Pro you can. You just make sure your project properties are correctly set to the right template, and then you export using the mpeg2 template for your camcorder kind, and AC3 for audio.

VMS doesn't allow much tweaking of mpeg2 files.
Still, you have 2 options:
1) Rendering to mpg2 in Vegas, with the default settings (no tweaking possible), will give you good quality video with a steady bitrate. Import this file into DVDA and burn your dvd.
2) Render to avi in Vegas, and import the avi files into DVDA. DVDA will choose optimal settings for encoding to mpg2. Still, if necessary, hit 'fit to disc'. Now you can set bitrates for all files.
