Best Vegas 8 Pro save settings for YouTube?

I did a search for Youtube on here and I really didn't come up with anything relevant to this.

Starting with regular SD video imported from a MiniDV camera, what are the best save settings for Youtube? I think there are a few different versions of this out there on the web, but they all seem to be different, and I think Youtube has changed some of their technology recently as well. not sure. thanks.

There are several videos on Youtube for the various versions of Vegas. I personally haven't tried any yet.

Yes, well "different" versions would be (by definition) "different" ;-)

I don't bother with "Best" ... since this is SD ... I save as I would for DVD .. as mpeg2 (DVD-NTSC, not the 'stream' version for DVDA)

In the past I've just rendered to mp4 from Vegas, but I'm really questioning that lately. Handbrake can make an H264 file out of a Cineform or DV codec master so much quicker and the end quality is every bit as good if not better. The Handbrake deinterlace (using the decomb instead of the deinterlace filter) is just awesome. I can render out a Cineform master really fast since it is largely a smart-render, pop it into Handbrake, and have exactly what I need for a Youtube or Vimeo upload with so little time and effort that I'm really starting to think that that is the way to go.

I am a little confused by the discussion. I thought if one uses either MainConcept AVC or Sony AVC then one is rendering to H264, since AVC = H264. MP4 is a format or container which can contain the H264 codec among others. Am I mistaken?
