By an AMD card, they are better supported. RX390x or 480X or Fury X.

Fury X is the best, right?
My main concern is smooth multicam editing with 4 or 6 HD1080 cameras. One is at 60fps, the rest at 30fps. Another one is also 4k, so I wait for the proxy to be built, which is slow.

Will I also need to upgrade my CPU?
Currently have AMD 8350 with Nvidia 750ti.

Yes, you should upgrade your CPU too if you want to edit 4-6cams. Get the fastest 6-Core desktop Intel CPU you can afford. Some have also reported good results with the latest Ryzen 1700/1800 CPUs but I am more an Intel believer.

Thanks. If my motherboard supports only PCI 2, will the Fury X work, even if slower? If so, I might buy it now, and wait 6 months until the Ryzen Threaddripper 16 core 32 execution streams comes down from its $999 starting price.

Thanks for the info!

If you can wait, wait for VP15 and see whether GPU support for Nvidia cards has improved.
