I've been following these instructions for HD using Mp4. Pretty nice quality and size:

My son's ran the third leg for Binghamton (green), he's a freshman on scholorship. I have 4 years of experience hand holding video cameras for those events in highschool... it gets wobbly sometimes but it works when I'm too lazy to bring my fluid head tripod. Besides I like to get down on the floor with the athletes and dragging my heavy tripod won't work.

I wish Vimeo hadn't changed their policy with respect to links to original source material. You used to be able to link to the original file instead of the flash version and anyone you gave the link to could play it. Now that person has to be a member. I would never ask someone to join anything to see a video clip. And while the flash versions look better than they used to, many people don't have the computer power to play the better looking stuff. For example, I have three computers. I can play the flash videos you linked on my Core 2 (2.6 GHZ) computer with no problem. They will not play on this computer or my other one. PIII 1 GHZ computers with 750 MB of ram.

blip.tv allows linkage to the original source video that you upload. Plus, they have a 1 gig limit as opposed to vimeo's 500mb limit. They also allow for full HD DivX files. That is where I am migrating my stage6 content to as I can still show DivX files on my website without having to pay the streaming bills. http://jrazzcreations.blip.tv

I suppose any site like this is gonna have their pluses and minuses. Video's on Vimeo to me just looks less compressed, less artifacts. Blip looks good for sure, but I'd prefer the highest quality I can get. Understandable some vids don't playback on some systems, they are streaming HD after all. Out of curiosity have you tried turning off "HD" on the systems that had probs? There's a button when ya mouseover the video. Would be interested to know if that works any better.

I don't allow download of most of my source files so that's not an issue for me. I'll deal with the upload limit since at the end of the day (or week as the case may be) I'd rather have higher quality, lower limit. And they may always up it, apparently it used to be less than 500mb.

I also like the widgets they have for embedding. If ya go to my MySpace and look on the right halfway down the page you'll see the one I picked.

All a matter of personal preference to be sure. Either way just glad there are options outside of YouTube!!!
