Hey everyone,
I create clips for a streamer, dealing with 2K (1440p) live streams that are usually 3 to 4 hours long.
My current workflow: I use "4K Video Downloader+" to grab the streams. To get the 1440p resolution, I have to download them in MKV/VP9 format. Since Vegas doesn't support MKV well, I convert the files to MP4/H.264 using "HitPaw Video Converter." This results in some quality loss, but the footage plays back smoothly in both Vegas Pro 22 and 23.
The Goal: I'm looking for a way to download the video ready to import directly into Vegas without spending time converting/transcoding. Previously, I used yt-dlp, but it downloaded as WebM, which forced me to convert anyway. Do you have any solutions for a direct download workflow?
Shutter Encoder Question: I also tried converting the files using "Shutter Encoder," but the resulting videos stuttered/lagged heavily on the Vegas timeline. I suspect I didn't configure it correctly. Could anyone share the best Shutter Encoder settings for smooth playback in Vegas?
In short, it would be a way to speed up my work and/or ensure that I didn't lose much video quality.
Thanks in advance!
