Is it sufficient to post in this forum or do we have to write to the beta email addresses as well? (Let's just say that I hope posting in this forum is sufficient.)
That's really not fair to the developers. There is a specific e-mail address for beta feedback and, in my opinion, should be used. That way the feedback goes right to the development team and they don't have to filter through the other [unrelated] posts here (or on the COW).
I was just asking a question and hoping that developers (or someone on their behalf) monitors the newsgroups. Not only that, but if there were a form on the website that directly input the stuff into a DB, that would be one thing. But right now it's unstructured email that has to be entered into the DB by hand anyway. Seems to me that at least reading their own NG (as opposed to replying) is in their own interest. Anyway, what's not fair about my question. Let SoFo respond if they are so inclined.
Regarding "fair", it was just an opinion -- speaking as a product developer (and knowing that most product developers want to incorporate customer feedback when they can). I think you'll have a better chance getting your voice heard by sending your input to the e-mail provided in the beta docs, and it will be easier for SoFo to deal with as far as placing that input into a DB. Had this been the place where SoFo wanted the input on the V4 beta, they would have said so.
There doesn't have to be a "the" place for feedback. They're obviously not going to put in readme and website that you have to register and use the forums! Besides, they have also used this forum to solicit feedback, and they didn't ask anyone to mail to the beta addresses. Anyway, this is a stupid argument. I was just asking.
