I see nothing about the file except he video is VFR.
Is it on a large external drive?
Try moving it to your desktop.
Does the audio play fine in vlc?

Yeah, we move to the desktop and it plays fine in Windows Media Player.

No one else has ever had the sound disappear from a big file?

I was hoping it was just a setting or something. Any ideas at all?

The weird thing is that I put it into "Freestudio" and I can get the audio into an MP3 and then link the two.

Speaking of "freestudio" is there a better free video/audio converter out there?
