Assuming you're running Windows XP?

If you go to Accessibility Options in Control Panel, then select Display, you can choose a Hight Contrast font and then toggle this on and off using a keyboard shortcut (default Alt Left shift Printscreen). Various larger fonts are possible there.

Alternatively you can change the default font size for Windows in Control Panel>Display>Appearance>Font Size

I tried all of that but I can't change the font that is small in size and very light colored in every drop down menu. Tried bumping up the menu size with the video card but no cigar. The menu gets bigger and the font gets harder to read. 99% of the other fonts are just fine and controlable. This does not happen with smaller resolutions until you start getting over 1360 x 768.

Have you tried making everything bigger? Right-click desktop, then Settings/Advanced/General/DPI setting. If you put in a different number, Windows will literally scale everything up or down. With my eyes I haven't had to do this with my main machine and a 24" monitor running 1920x1200, but on my itty-bitty Vaio (4.5" screen running 1024x600) it was crucial to boost the scale by 150%. I also did the trick to my 89-year-old dad's 15" laptop; with stock settings he had a frustrating time with some text, but boosted to 125% he does fine.

I tried 120% but it was pretty much the same. I wonder why that particular font is not adjustable?
