What format are these source clips in? Vegas is NOT considered useful as an editor of MPEG2 clips in particular.

ok this is what i do. I change a vob to mpg and import to veags timeline and than i have these frezzing and pausing problems with the clip playback.

See my prior answer - Vegas is NOT good with editing Mpeg2 (VOB etc etc etc etc).

So do u think i should get premeire or what other programs do u think can handle vobs avis and mepg2 files

I don't know of anything that will handle vobs or mpgs, besides just viewing them. Try TMPGEnc 2.5. They have a new website. They have a free trial. Pegasys is there co. name. Do a google. It can do simple edits and can sew two or more mgps together. I don't know of anything that's going to let you edit, like you edit an .avi in timeline of Vegas. Let us know if you find anything. (even TMPGEnc 2.5 crashes from time to time, when I work on mpg2s. It's very hard on your system.)

Convert the mpeg's to DV AVI's. Use the tmpgenc free trial to do that.

That should help.
