Black screen to white screen transitions

I am editing a video where I have used a camera and OBS so editing the footage of me talking to camera with a video of the screen.

Where the screen on one track is dark/black and the other is white, the change over is jarring.

This is a fast cutting video going to one to the other all the time and so I can't easily then manually do a transition from clip to clip.

Is there something I can overlay on the joins of the two clip to make an immediate transition appear smoother?

Or should I have added a small fadeout that happens when I cut all my clips?

I hope this makes sense and hope someone can please help.

One approach could be to use a luminance mask in Vegas Pro's Color Corrector (Secondary) FX on the 'white' events and reduce the white highlights down a bit.

@Jon-W The best thing you can do in that situation is to use a slow gradual cross fade.

I think there is a function where you can set it so that every time you cut there is a slight fade in/out at the start/end of each clip. But I can't remember how to set that.

That's what the Smart Split option does. You create a timeline selection over where you want the split and press the Smart Split icon on the timeline toolbar or use the shortcut Alt + S

In a quick nutshell:

Automatic crossfade is for when you drag one clip over another to create a crossfade effect, or not.

Quickfade Audio Edits is for when you split an audio event, an automatic crossfade effect is created, or not.
