Black video output

This has got to be simple. What am I doing wrong? I'm only using 3 tracks, Text, Video, Voice. The Video & Voice are from the .AVI file I dropped into the timeline. I added several Text Media Generators. When I play the project in the preview window it all looks great. When I Make Movie the video track outputs completely black but the Text track is rendered properly. I can either watch this blackness happen in the preview window or wait until the video file is complete and see the same problem when playing back that file. I even deleting the Video Overlay track with the same results. Is there some setting I don't know about that says "don't process the Video Track"?

Input file AVI is a divx.mp3, 1280x720x32 x 30fps

Output is Video for Windows (AVI) Audio: 44,100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
Video: 29.970 fps, 1280x720x32

So, your Dvix file playes ok on the time line? What happens if you do a RAM render of a section of it? Does that play OK? Can you do a render to new track and have it play ok? With Divx I always think of a codec problem first but it seems strange that you can put it on the timeline and play it ok. It only disappears after you render it? Have you tried rendering it to something besides Video for Windows (AVI)?

Not sure what RAM is?

I tried rendering to new track using both .avi and .wmv with the same black results.

No, the video is black even while it is being rendered. It is very strange, I use the play button at the bottom of the timeline and my video is beautiful with the titles dissolving out and video fading in, it's perfect, but rendering shows the video track as black but the titles exist, the titles fade out to the black video.

Quick idea, maybe kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Look at my other post which includes a 4 sec video. Maybe if we solve that problem, it will solve this problem.

I tyhink its a codec problem. Follow the advice in your other postt and see if that works.

Thanks! Installing the correct codec solved it!
