Blocky output to camcorder (Preview and Print-to-Tape)

This is a repeat of a frequently posted problem, where the output to the camcorder is either very blocky or blue-screen. I have researched extensively all the posts and have implemented numerous solutions without success. My problem seems a bit different in that new AVI files from the installation CD, such as the kayaker and snowskiing, will play back to the camcorder just fine initially. However, after the files have been prerendered, or if I try to play back an AVI captured by VV3 from the same camcorder, I get the blocks or blue-screen. Here are the things I've done so far; Tried Adaptec and Pyro cards, Belken cable, Sony PC9 and Sony TRV720, updated BIOS, reformatted hard drive 4 times and only installed PCI graphics card and firewire card, reinstalled Windows ME 8 times, modified all settings in VV3 related to DV device, used all Windows drivers for card and camera, both VV3 3.0a and 3.0c, both DirectX 8.0 and 8.1, turned off ACPI, and closed all background apps. I'm pretty much down to the motherboard (ECS K7S5A) or the Sony cameras, but since I can get the external monitor feature to work correctly with AVI's from the installation disc, I know my system and configuration are capable of providing proper output. I just can't figure out why two files that look identical (720x480x24, 29.970 fps, DV, 48 kHz, 16-bit stereo, uncompressed) would behave so differently. I had a little bit of this problem initially with Premiere 6.0 and a Pinnacle DV200 card, but after several reinstalls it straightened out. The DV200 shouldn't be the problem since I reformatted the hard drive.

Any help would be appreciated, but I will certainly understand if nobody replies. I just hate to give up on such a GREAT program. Thanks

Another poster suggested upgrading from Windows ME to Windows XP Pro. I tested the solution with an upgrade version of Windows XP Home that I already owned, and the problem was fixed.
