Blu Bug in Vegas Pro 8.0b??

With 8.0a, i was able to use the "Burn to Disc" function to burn the timeline to a regular DVD, but as a bluray file to play in HD on a PS3. With the update to 8.0b, i can no longer do it.

There is an error message about not being able to access the required files to complile image. I"ve tried this with many different clips; some of which i had just last week burned successfully with 8.0a.

Unfortunately, i can't revert back to 8.0a and the 8.0 disc i have only renders the file, but won't burn the disc so i have to use an iso burner. The 8.0a update was the best for this.

Anyone else having this issue?

Yes. I have noticed the exact same problem with 8.0b.
Having the same experience right now.
Perhaps Version 8.0 F will be the solution.
It should be out by 2010 or 2011.
Right before they release the 64 bit version of Vegas....!

If it is the same problem I reported here (see middle of the thread), then check which audio stream you are rendering to. For some reason Vegas crashed on me if I had Wave64 instead of AC3.

Is this a bug?
I didn't think you could use 5.1 pcm audio on a dvd, thought it had to be Dolby or Stereo pcm.

For Blu-Ray I thought 5.1 pcm could be used, not sure, maybe it has to be 24bit pcm audio for Blu-Ray.

Same problem here. It will only allow AC-3 Pro, which does not come with Vegas (add $200 :-(), or WV64, but it does not find the files.
Did anyone figure out what the deal is?

Does this happen when you point your temps to somewhere other than C:?
I'm not experiencing this error, but don't point my temps to C:, either.

Yes, I am pointing to various drives and my test project is only 10 seconds long, so space should not be a problem.
I have read that people using AC-3 Pro do not have a problem, only using Wave64. Can't figure out what it's looking for.

I do not have AC-3 Pro (sony wants $200). Can we use a 3rd party AC3 that would work here?

I didn't buy AC3 separately either, but when I choose it (and Dolby 5.1 surround), the process goes as smoothly as with 8a. So, I don't undestand the problem - perhaps I happen to have AC3 codec on my PC from elsewhere?

Please enlighten me!

Sorry megabit, my bad.
I had an old install of DVDA Studio. When I installed Vegas Pro 8 with DVDA Pro, that put the AC-3 Pro codec in, but Vegas did not recognize it and kept using AC-3 Studio (it kept asking me to upgrade to Pro).

After I realized last night (with Chien's help) I uninstalled both DVDA versions, and reinstalled DVDA Pro. Vegas now sees AC-3 Pro and everything works like a charm.

What an idiotic thing, but that's me alright.

Just noticed the same bug when creating any Blu-Ray disc. If I select Wave64 disc image cannot be created. If I choose AC3 Pro, no problems.

Anyone find a work-around so that LPCM can be used on the Blu discs?
