Blu-Ray disc logo

I have a set of non-copyright DVD logos that I downloaded eons ago to use on my SD discs. They were put up and made available for free - I'll have to trawl back through my bookmarks to see if I can find the link (then check to see if the link still lives) if anyone is interested.

I was wondering if anyone has an equivalent for Blu-Ray?

Google BluRay logo and take your pick.

The official spelling and punctuation is "Blu-ray" (Note the lower case "r" in "ray".)

I know I can use Google Images but all results have those two tiny letters 'TM' attached to them :o)

Why not just use the official Blu-ray logo?
I recall when Blu-ray first came out an independant producer could get a license simply by asking. As I've just (finally) started making Blu-ray disks I tried to track down getting such a license without any luck at all.

So, I've just used the logo anyway, I'll gladly do the dance to go legit but first they need to show me the steps. Here's the other thing. The blue "Blu-ray" cases that I bought already have the official Blu-ray logo embossed in them.

I looked into this a while ago. I "think" what I found out is the only legal way to use the logo was to get a disc replicated by an approved vendor and of course buy all the needed licenses. I think it was USD $13-15K per title for the licenses.

So, I just put "High Definition" on my disks rather than the logo.

Just to be official

From blu-ray license page

Do all authoring houses have to obtain BD-ROM2, or BD-ROM2 and BD-ROM3 Commercial Audiovisual Content license?
Authoring houses intending to be engaged in rather sophisticated BD-ROM authoring are encouraged to obtain Commercial Audiovisual Content License and actually study the relevant BD-ROM2 Blu-ray Disc spec book for 2D authoring and BD-ROM3 for 3D authoring.

•Only those authoring houses obtaining Commercial Audiovisual Content license are permitted to use official BD logo in their advertisement and promotion of their authoring services.

As with anything else, you can access the official Blu-ray logo in its entire form if you keep it under the radar of small one-off production.
If you are going to the press method and want major runs (250-500) and you are offering title for profit sale - look to having the post house help you out.

Again for one-off the vector-art trace is available...just seek what you need.

Good quality logos are available in various sizes here.

What you do with them is up to you and your legal team.

Notes on Photo Shop / Video Shop which I take to mean a small operation. Here
