Blue screen of death while using Vegas 9

VMP wrote on 7/1/2010, 6:48 AM
Hi,

I am getting more problems with Vegas and Acid pro crashing the system during work.
It probably has something to do with my soundcard (Terratec DMX 6fire 24/96), but I am not sure.

Symptoms:
A. Often the sound just falls away with a ‘tdup’ sound, it’s like the soundcard is 'disabled' (but it is not).
Or
B. Blue screen with the error code listed below for some seconds then system reboot.

Cause:
I am not fully sure, the crash only occurs with Vegas or Acid, not any other software.
The sound dropout/crash usually occurs when I use the vertical scrollbar from Vegas/ acid.

Or a fast combination of ‘Enter’ button -> left mouse button click (during playback).
By dropout: disabling/enabeling the soundcard helps sometime, but also make the system reboot 50% chance.

Not sure if my video card: Geforce Nvidia 8600 GTS has anything to do with it.

I have ignored this problem for some time now, but I think it is now getting quite serious!
The sudden reboot of the system is causing problems, and I am afraid that I may lose data like this.

Yesterday after the error reboot, the bios date changed to September!

I have pasted the ‘Minidump’ info hereunder. (Partly, the full version on request)

Is there any solution to this? Is it my sound card?
Would buying a new one solve the problem?

I have the latest drivers - http://www.terratec.net/en/driver-and-support/driver_34399.html?selectproduct=DMX 6fire 24/96

Driver and ControlPanel

Version: 5.40 | Filesize: 4.87 MB

Thanks in advance
