Blurred stills in slideshow. Why? How to fix.

I have several series of stills in a slideshow. I have been rendering it & watching it now & then to see how it is coming out. Most of the first group of stills come out clean & crisp, as they are before import. The last batch comes out blurred / indistinct. I didn't to my knowledge change any settings along the way.

I have tried importing by dragging the images directly from a folder to the timeline, and dragging into the project media area first - no effect. I've checked to see if overlaying text is associated with the problem, it appears not to be. I've checked to see if adding a fade in is the problem; it seems not to be associated.

So now I have a video of stills in which the first groups look great, and then they suddenly start looking crappy. So its not a rendering issue; both good & bad quality images appear in the same rendering. The images are all the same resolution. Why is this happening, & how do I fix it?

[video clips all come out fine.]

This is silly, and - perhaps it will save someone else some trouble: I export stills from lightroom. yesterday I had to export a still at small size for an email, so I checked the appropriate box in the export window, & promptly forgot the whole thing. So, half way through my slideshow I reduced image size by about 450%.

We’re glad you got it sorted out.
