BLURRING OF VIDEO

Hello,
I make railway bluray dvds and have just started to get blurring , mainly at the edges as trains pass through the shot in the near foreground. This has just started after many successful productions. I use a Sony HDR 12E camera and the blurring is not in the original material.

My settings in Pro 11 are

Video 25fps 1920x1080
Rendering template Bluray 1920x1080-50:25mbps
Pixel aspect 1.000(square)
Pixel format 8bit
Full resolution rendering quality
Motion blur type gaussian
Deinterlace method blend fields
Adjust source media on

Switches

Loop on
Maintain aspect ratio on
Reduce interlace flicker on
disable resample box with a circle in it which i assume means checked

Does anyone have any suggestions, please?

Without knowing your complete source media properties, it's iimpossible to tell. Download MediaInfo from Sourceforge and provide the complete information. Also upload a sample clip from your camera somewhere.

Hi & thanks for your reply....

Media source properties (reading from MediaInfo):

First Video Stream -
15.6Mbps 1920*1080 (16:9) at 25,000 fps, AVC (High@L4.0) (CABAC / 2 Ref Frames)

First Audio stream -
448 Kbps, 48.0 KHz, 16 Bits , 6 Channels, AC-3

First text stream -
PGS

Not sure about uploading a clip for you (newby technical issue!!) - is there anything you can suggest?

Regards

John

"Rendering template Bluray 1920x1080-50:25mbps"

Looks like you are rendering AVCHD to MPEG-2 for BluRay. That is unnecessary and will certainly cause some softness.

Render to the same format as your source -- Sony AVC BluRay -- and choose a template that most closely matches your source.

Thanks for your help but it made no difference. The curious thing is that I have taken 2 clips from the video and rendered them as I normally do and the result is fine. However, when the same 2 clips are contained in the full length video ( about 60 mins) which has the dame project properties and is rendered using the same settings as the 2 clips on their own, blurring occurs on them. ! am at a loss to understand how this can happen.
