Blurring / ”softening” a region of each frame

Hello

I’m using the Knock Out effect in Pure Motion Edit Studio 5 to remove time stamps from some clips. The plug-in works well and is better than the plug-ins found in VirtualDub, in my opinion. But there are some “flickering” and some “hard” edges where the time stamps used to be. (I do not know if this is the proper terminology for what I try to describe.)

Therefore my question is: Is it possible to apply a blur effect (or something like that) in Vegas 6 to “soften” the image in the surrounding region / inside the region where I have removed the time stamps? (I hope you understand what I want to achieve.)

Regards,

Joran (Norway)

Put a copy of the video on a new track above and apply one of the blur filters. You can define the area that gets overlaid with the Cookie Cutter FX or use a Bezier Mask from the pan/crop tool.

Use a feathered edge so that the border between the two versions is not noticable.

I don't know your software, but I use the "DeLogo" plugin in VirtualDub all the time. That software has various controls to soften the edges. Are you sure there are no controls or settings in the software you're using that would do this for you?
