BMP won't preview or render?

I have a .bmp file that I've imported into MovieStudio. I drag it onto the timeline, I can see the thumbnail there, but when I preview that section I get nothing but blank screen. Same story when I render.

BMP files are supported, yes? Any tricks I need to know?

File is 2.2MB in size, and the image is 1019x762. Same behavior when placing the file into a track both direct from Explorer and by putting the file in the Media Pool.

I'm using Movie Studio 3.0.

I've just imported a bmp, same image and file sizes, without any problems. Sorry that doesn't help you, but at least you know it should be possible.

It could be an os issue. Can you see bmp image in image editing prog?

laz, your comment about it being an OS thing made me wonder. I went back into the screen capture program I used to create the bmp and noticed that they offered 2 different .bmp options: Windows Bitmap and OS/2 bitmap. Guess which one I chose without thinking about it...

So, once I created a file in the "Windows Bitmap" format, all was well.

I'm glad you're sorted. There's so much criteria to remember with dv. (But that's why it's so much fun). And I've learned so much with help from this forum.
