Books for VMS??

Hello,
I am brand new to VMS (just installed VMS Platinum 8.0a last night). I'm a long time Pinnacle Studio user who finally threw in the towel with all the bugs and instabilities of that software family!!

I've been reading this forum for a couple of months now (it is what convinced me to buy VMS vs Premiere Elements) and recognize the wealth of information in this forum.

However, in addition to this forum, does anybody know of any good books on using VMS or any additional web sites that offer tutorials or tips on using VMS?

Cheers and many thanks in advance!
Gary

Gary, welcome from another former PStudio user, you;ve made a good choice.

As for tutorials, see the Search link above your posting? Click it and type "tutorial" in the key word field and change the forum to "Vegas Movie Studio" myself and others have posted links to tutorials in prevous threads.

Have fun learning VMS. I will take a little while longer to use compared to PStudio, but it's much more stable. And once you get it figured out, watch out. Enjoy.

btw, follow the Show Me How tutorials. Help > Show Me How...

I'm a new user as well. I rented a DVD from SmartFlix.com called the Vegas Companion which was very helpful to get up and running. It's a 6-Part series of DVD's (if I remember correctly), but Part 1 goes over the basics and I found it valuable.
