Borders and high Res jpg's

I have inserted a slide show into my VMS-P8 project wherein I fly cropped jpg’s across a background of other jpg’s. To soften the flying images, I have used the Border FX effect on the smaller images. The key framing works well on the smaller resolution images, however, when I attempt to fly the high resolution image (1-2MG) across the background, all “H” breaks loose! When I do this my computer locks up and the timeline freezes. When I turn off the Borders FX plug-in on the high resolution jpg, then, no problem. My processor is fairly fast and I have 4 GB of RAM. Is there something in my “preferences” that is hosing me?

Do not use high-res pictures. Use that freeware app from Microsoft to resize all to the project size.

As for the border plugin, it will slow down things, all plugins do..

Hello Eugenia: I'm running XP Pro, do I resize the entire project, video clips and jpg's or only the jpg's? How do I get to the resizing application?

An easy and free way to resize stills is to download Irfanview.

Oh, and you just want to rersize the stills.

I installed the application, however, for the life of me I can't find an icon, short-cut or anything in my Programs file to activate the application .... ugggh!

It's a powertoy, so you might need to select some pictures and find the app on the right-click menu.
