I am using it but not as a plug-in rather as a stand alone
Very very good key . But very fiddly diddly before you get the results. time consuming. you also need to add light wrap as the alpha edge or spill suppression tends to be on the magenta side ie RGB = RB need to be knocked back
The facilities are there also with a good alpha choke
You might be disappointed when using mpegs but the QT files work great
I also recently got NewBlue Croma keyer and I assumed that it would not be as good as Boris I was surprised how it performed on some really Bad clips, where I batted and failed in Boris
I got it right in NewBlue THIS could just simply be my BAD
Bottom line .to get it looking right you need to do a garbage matte with NewBlue this will allow for color corrections on the media
Boris allows for this to be done all on one clip but with effort
Personally I am using NewBlue as my main key now because i can use it direct in Vegas on all media
Red in the fastest Chroma Keyer I used. I have Affect Effect, Combustion and Ultra.
My steps with Red:
Crop green screen clip then add BCC Chorma Keyer to clip---click on the eyedropper on green.
Pull down Show Matte. Adjust density to all white or black. Return to show composite.
Finished---Step 2 If that didn’t do the trick.
Then add BCC Matte Cleanup. Click on show matte. Repeat first steps add all black and white. Return to show composite.
Finished.
Thanks JT …but working as a stand alone right .How do you find Boris with Mpegs?
From Vegas as a plug from a screen grab folks will be disappointed with the key cause you will have to go back and forth to get it right.= wasting time
I use Boris FX 9 as a plug inside Vegas for transitions and other fx but not the chroma key
B RED for extruding bmp and logo’s is excellent inside Vegas, place a empty event in Vegas pop on RED extrude animate and it maps TIFF’s spot on
Use the same tiff with a bump for the bump really the best
I also use AE but Boris’s Control widow makes key editing easier
