Thanks but yes i know that, In the Boris vids they always show, 'you can turn on & off what you see in the host',,, but not if you're in Vegas. I've been waiting & hoping with each update from Boris or Vegas but noo 😐 so i thought i'd ask n maybe someone would be prompted 🤷♂️
The only issue is that Vegas implementation of certain architecture is slightly different to implement than others. But eventually the team over at Boris eventually addresses every issue concerning Vegas once it's technically possible.
Gid, raise your issue over at the Boris forum. You will get a solid response from one of the engineers etc.

Thanks, but no response from Boris, I posted on there 8 days ago

@Steve_Rhoden Not solid at all, if i post on Boris timeline about one of their products then yes the response is quick & good from them as experts of their product but if i inc Vegas in the title the response is slow & vague if i get a reply at all, the post i inc above is 19days old & not one reply from them, not even to say that's a Vegas incapability issue or whatever the reason, or that they'll work with Vegas to maybe adding these S_Effect parameters one day, no explanation at all, so I'd have to disagree & that Vegas isn't one of their top priorities, it's prob the very bottom looking at there replies in general, whereas if the title of a post has AE, Nuke or Avid in it then yes it gets full attention.
Unavoidably, vegascreativesoftware is a small company, and Magix has too many product lines, so it does not have enough manpower and resources to develop new functions, fix bugs, maintain stability and promote marketing in Vegas, which makes Vegas unable to become the mainstream of the industry. If Magix streamlines its product line and invests more resources into Vegas, making Vegas more stable and its new features on par with other mainstream NLEs, and gaining professional recognition in the industry, then maybe Vegas will gain the support of more partners like Resolve gains.
Many plugin vendors have discontinued active support for Vegas for their new plugin products, such as FilmConvert, Digital Anarchy. In contrast, Boris is already doing well and their new product Silhouette plugin was vegas-compatible as soon as release. As long as their any product support OFX, Vegas will have a share, while Hitfilm Pro has not been officially supported by any of their products so far ( other than Mocha Pro ).

@lan-mLMC Wasn't it something to do with Vegas's outdated OpenFX API, they do not update it. It was last mentioned in Vegas release notes in VP12, and VP12 appears to be using version 1.1
* Sony Vegas 12
OFX API version 1.1
hostName=com.sonycreativesoftware.vegas
hostLabel=Vegas Pro 12.0
hostVersion=12.726.0 ()
Release dates
OpenFX 1.1 was released in 2007.
OpenFX 1.2 was released in 2010.
OpenFX 1.3 was released in 2012.
OpenFX 1.4 was released in 2015.
As I understand it, the point of OFX Api is to build one plugin that runs on many hosts, but if Vegas is actually stuck on OFX 1.1 and the other NLE's are on OFX 1.4 there will come a point where developers won't bother making their plugins less advanced to suit Vegas or backwards compatible to suit Vegas, it won't make business sense
To be supported by all Plugins again, Magix just needs to implement or become compatible with OpenFX 1.4 standard? @jetdv are you able to explain in layman what this ofx api is and why Vegas may have for not updated it, surely there is no negative in keeping up to date with a api standard?
Someone mentioned Vegas is not capable of multi threading via it's ofx interface, is that true?
@Former user, OpenFX is the effects/transitions/media generators interface. The stuff I do is through the scripting interface which is totally different.
Hi, sorry I didn’t know which forum to put this, I’m considering switching hosts, poss to Avid. I’m going through your 10 pages of videos now, i’m presuming that because there’s 10 pages that my question will get a positive answer I have all 5 of your main products & OFX plugins, Continuum, Sapphire, Silhouette Standalone + Plugin, Mocha Pro Standalone + Plugin, Optics, will all work in Avid? Thanks.
@Former user Are you converting to AVID Media Composer? Is it because Boris FX's feature is incomplete in Vegas?
@lan-mLMC Hi, no, I see no change with S_Effect (latest version) not showing the parameters in Vegas Pro21 (300) 😒
@Former user This is really bad news.
I remember contacting some people in Sapphire Team and Vegas Team in 2021 to discuss this issue.
The Sapphire Team said that this bug was due to the host limitation of Vegas (OFX dynamic parameters).
An engineer in Vegas said that Vegas already supports OFX dynamic parameters.
Finally, the Sapphire Team asked to contact the engineers of Vegas Team directly. So I gave him the email address of engineer Vegas. Then I don't know how things was going.
Unexpectedly, now in 2024, this problem remains unsolved.

@lan-mLMC To be honest I wouldn't expect much if I was to ask again about this. The Boris team are good & I think you're right when you say it's a 'host limitation'. they created Vegas Mocha 👍 & they'll try to fix problems but I still disagree with Steve, Vegas isn't a 'top priority host' for them, from reading others posts on their forum I get the impression that Vegas is bottom of that host list, host limitation restricts them, their plugins 'mostly' work but I had AE for a while & there's other stuff that works in there that doesn't in Vegas, I wonder how many people know there's a separate Beat Reactor fx in Continuum that can be added which will control pretty much any other fx added, this fx doesn't show in the Vegas FX list.
So it's no doubt hard to give 'top priority' to a piece of software that isn't fully compatible, I've asked about other stuff over the yrs & have only received limited polite replies, they look at it & give their opinion but there's often little resolve, if it's their problem they'll address it but often it's just Vegas being Vegas
Silhouette is no longer supported by Vegas, I asked & only got nothing more than this -
--------------
PS, the older BCC fxs with Beat Reactor work on a still image, png, jpg etc. but for me the newer ones BCC+ don't work on still images, but I bet the newer BCC+Beat Reactor work on still images in AE & prob their other hosts, I'd be interested to find out but I've no longer got AE to test it. Can you & @Reyfox try this on a still image in Vegas? The main one I go to is BCC+Transform. (BCC DVE still works as this is a older fx, this is my back-up option & does a similar thing to Transform (Beat Reactor using Scale))
