Brain Fading - importing scrolling credits?

I've done this before and can't remember how...

I have a Word file that I want to import for scrolling credits. I copy the Word file (Tabs separate the function and the person) and try to paste it in.

Only the first line is copied to the media generator

Example:

Director Joe Smith
Sets Ellen Bradley
Script Bill Brown

Only the Director line appears.

What am I forgetting? (I did successfully find my way home yesterday)

If you tried to paste into a "Scrolling Credits" event, this is probably why it only accepted one line.

I would paste into a "normal" text event, then use the Placement tab to create the scroll. e.g. first keyframe - top of text just below the bottom of frame, last keyframe, bottom of text just above the top.

Highlight them all, press CTRL-C

In the credit roll, click on the squre to the LEFT of the line (i.e. highlights the entire line) and then press CTRL-V. You should then get them all.

I have found it much easier to create and manage the text for a dual-column credit roll using two columns in an Excel spreadsheet as opposed to tabbed text in Word. Since I often can copy/paste the source for one of the columns from somewhere else, this allows me to paste the left and right columns independently of each other. Then I massage the data as necessary, then swipe both columns, Ctrl-C then Ctrl-V in the credit editor as described above.
