Brightness - Youtube vs Vimeo

I followed the "better" method in the video tutorial with DNxHD and Handbrake. Uploaded the same video to both Youtube and Vimeo. Embedded the video from each site onto a web page.

Is it your experience also that Vimeo results in a brighter video than Youtube? See my screen shot below:

Look at the brick, see the difference in brightness between Youtube (top) and Vimeo (bottom) I have 720P enabled for the youtube embed and HD is on for Vimeo.

Remember that Vimeo and YouTube (virtually all video hosting sites) will re-encode your video after you upload them. The opportunity for a colorspace change is very high.

I upload identical files to both services.

In general I find Vimeo produces a better-looking video. YouTube often pinches the highlights and sometimes adds a color tint. Vimeo does a much better job with their conversion process, at least to my eyes.
