Bug/crash. Dragging TIF to timeline crashed VP9-32

Dragging a TIF8bit image down to the time line suddenly resulted in the following:

Time line / are got dead

"Play" played the track and showed the image that I dragged to the timeline but didn't show up.

Not possible to exit Pro9 32 normally. had to Task manager out.

It worked for around 500 times before.

Vegas has never really liked TIFs (something about having to make a call to QuickTime each time one is loaded).
Convert the TIF to a PNG or Targa and see if that's any better.
