Bug report on my daily workflow on Vegas Pro 22

Hello guys. First, I need to say that I'm enjoying Vegas Pro 22 and don't see my self coming back to previous versions.
My daily workflow is almost about weddings and anniversaries from different cameras and formats. And they are always large projects, between 200 and 400 clips.

Most of the bugs that happen in my workflow are random and on large projects. And some are not exclusively of version 22, some are from version 19 up to 22. When I encounter bugs, I always try to find a temporary solution.

"Random" maybe is a keyword for these bugs.

  • Leak of Memory;

    The leak of memory happens occasionally and random since version 19, specially when "Dynamic RAM preview max" is set by default 5% or any other value. Again, it's a random behavior. But, on version 22 happens also when editing MTS, M2T (using compoundplug, which is set by default on version 22) and some MP4/AVC (using mxcompoundplug). On version 22 is more aggressively this random behavior when happens.

    Solution that I found on my workflow: I always transcode the MTS and M2T files to MP4 and set Dynamic RAM preview max to 0. The leak of memory stopped. As for some MP4/AVC (using mxcompoundplug), the solution that I found is to convert MP4 to MP4 (using Adobe Media Encoder), and set Dynamic RAM preview max to 0 as well. But again, these situations are random.

    Unresponsive behavior while editing;

    I mean, laggy, bottlenecks, freezes, multicam edit sometimes does not make the cut or crossfade (holding Ctrl) by clicking on the selected camera. These behaviors happen on these kinds of situations, specially using some MP4/AVC files (using mxcompoundplug).

    Solution that I found on my workflow: I set Dynamic RAM preview max to 0 and most of these unresponsive behaviors have decreased a lot, they still happen random, but now at a much lower frequency.

    Weird clicking sound on the audio during editing;

    Vegas Project, Video or Audio files are always set for 48.000hz. But since version 19 up to 22 this happens randomly, a very weird clicking sounds appears out of nowhere, and they still there after rendering, in the final file. This doesn't have a pattern to happen, it is totally random. Specially with some MP4/AVC. This behavior is very aggressively, special on Vegas Pro 22.

    Solution that I found on my workflow: I make sure to convert the audio files to WAV, and before I make the final render, I usually apply De-click sound effect from Izotope RX. This resolves the weird clicking sound.

    Video Stabilization Bug;

    This bug happens since Vegas Pro 19 and still happens on version 22. It only happens after the final render, when is the moment to watch the final result. It is invisible when applied during the edit. Furthermore, it's hard to explain. When video stabilization effect is applied between "CUTS" and after the final render happened the event is scaled on a very large way by 1 frame, then it back to normal. This enormous scale only happens in the beginning of the event, only on the first frame, 2 frames ahead the video event back to normal. Once I thought was a particular bug involving compoundplug and So4compoundplug on previous versions, but still happens on version 22 using mxcompoundplug.

    Solution that I found on my workflow: I always isolate the particular event that I want to apply video stabilization plugin, I apply it, I render it, and then I import it back to the project. The large weird scale in the beginning of the event by 1 frame duration does not happen anymore. I use a lot the video stabilization plugin.

    Render to a new Track, "templates are not showing" bug:

    This bug was also mentioned by other users in this forum, some templates are not showing when Render to a new track is needed. In my case, I use a lot MAGIX AVC/ACC MP4 templates. This one is really annoying.

    Solution that I found on my workflow: It's a frustrated solution, but I just "Render as".

    Even with these bugs, I love Vegas, and its future is going to be even better.
