[bug?] Slowmotion effect causes big lag and project file size

So I used new effect "Slowmotion" and I'm happy with effects from it (it was simple videos without big movement).

After that I noticed, that editing was not that fluent like always. First operation on timeline (move any event by 1 sec or anything) causes long freeze. Then, ANY operation (slice, move events) causes visible (1-2 sec) lag. I was wondering, what is wrong, and then notice, that my project file is MUCH larger than usual (2-3mb versus 70mb!).

I used slowmotion only 4 times for 5-10 seconds event. Each one increases project by 15MB. I cleared "motion data" from them, leaving effect on it (bypassed), but file size stays big until I removed plugin. I'm using prerendered files for slowmo/stabilize videos, so I wanted to leave source event muted.

File size isn't problem at all, but this lag every any operation was awful. Maybe storing this data outside project file can reduce lag?

I had the similar experience of lag, especially during color grading.

Try this: right click on the clip that you want to make it Slow Motion> Create Nested Timeline.

This will create 'child' Veg project that only contains the clip you selected, then do apply Slowmotion effect here. Go back to 'parent' timeline, then continue editing your project. If needed, you can create video proxy on the nested VEG file for playback performance. You should not having further lag after doing this.

With this method, the slow motion 'cache' data was placed on different VEG project file, and keep clear the main VEG project.
