Bug: SVP 13 hangs when deleting audio event

Arob wrote on 8/9/2014, 11:56 AM
I don't know where else to post bugs, so here goes. SVP13 hangs for a few minutes when you delete the audio event that is currently playing. Thankfully, it doesn't crash SVP, just hangs for a few minutes before taking you back to the timeline. I have repeated this bug several times a day.

This is on Win 8.1 64-bit with SVP 13 build 373.

Is your Auto-ripple ON?

I can't reproduce the issue if Auto-Ripple OFF, but, if turned ON, deleting while playing, this condition really makes you hang.

Had the same problem with all undo functions, Sony Tech recommended to do a full reinstall with a different desktop user. I haven't done this yet because I'm in the middle of a project and don't want to go there. I did find the menu 'undo' worked faster than the Ctrl+z for some reason, might want to try it.

Yes, I have auto ripple ON. I've also made it happen when you delete the following event (to the right on the timeline) than the one playing. This will also cause a "hang". FYI, Sony gave the following explanation that I obviously don't accept.

"Thank you for contacting Sony Creative Software. Crashing when deleting a file that is currently being played on the timeline is very normal due to conflicts in the system process as well as program processes. If you wish to delete a file, wait until the cursor is no longer playing the file if you are currently playing it back, or pause the playback and then delete the file. the program is very likely to crash if the media is deleted during playback."

And now have reproduced the problem by deleting the event prior to the one playing as well.
