Bug? V13 can't decode video and V11 can

R0cky wrote on 3/31/2015, 6:54 PM
I have several files I want render out. Some are SD and some are HD. All are AVC encoded inside MP4 containers. Media Info data is listed below.

V13 b428 can read the the SD video no problem but the HD shows up as green frames. However, Vegas 11 32 bit build 700 has no problem with the HD video, only Vegas 13 can't read it.

I took the HD video and demuxed it with TS muxer and used TSmuxer to change the level from 3.1 to 3.0. After that V13 can decode it successfully. It cannot decode video demuxed at 3.1 which is what Media Info shows.

Gspot shows the codec as AVC1 and also can decode and play it successfully. In fact, all of my other pieces of software other than Vegas 13 can decode it.

Is this a bug in V13?

yyyyyeeeaaahhhhh...... isn't that odd? Some might even call it a giant step BACKWARD.... I'm sure Sony will fix it in the next release.... or the next.... or maybe the next.... or maybe after that one....

Are you using the same computer for both V11 and V13 renders? If not, it could be the V13 computer is missing a codec or somesuch.

I had both on the same... GoPro worked in 11, not in 13

same computer on both. I also tested it on my system #2, same thing.

a couple more tidbits, DVDA 5.2 and 6.0 both decode properly.

Using VLC to rewrap the video/audio streams into an *.avi container also allows V13 to decode it properly.

I am happy to report that the 453 build of Vegas 13 has this bug fixed.
