Bugs in transitions

Vegas21_user wrote on 4/21/2024, 7:37 PM

Why do transition effects deteriorate over time in Vegas 21?

I have several transitions in the project (arriving an element to the screen, zooming in, etc.).

Over time, suddenly this effect stops working. To make it work again, you need to remove it and activate it again.

Why do the transition effects in this program deteriorate over time?

I show everything very carefully in this video:
(I didn't show it in the video, but when I applied transitions other than "zoom" from the "GL Transitions" category, every other effect was displayed with an error. This means that applying any transition to graphic events arranged on the timeline causes them to be displayed incorrectly. I have to delete everything and recreate it, then it will work.)

As a curiosity, I will add that I am a very old Vegas user. I have known this program since version number 6. I worked on Vegas 6. Then I moved to Vegas 13. These programs have always had a lot of bugs. But I thought that after 10 years of developing the program, all its bugs had finally been fixed.
But that didn't happen.

Now, as a new customer, I cannot accept such a terrible condition of the software I use. I remember that there were a huge number of bugs in old versions of Vegas. Now I returned to this software after many years and bought the latest version. I did this hoping that the old days were gone. And I'm shocked because the technical condition of Vegas 21 is terrible. Something like this shouldn't go beyond the software tester market. Did you see my other topics on this forum?

@Vegas21_user This looks like a PC graphics problem & In your previous post you had/have Graphics issues which weren't resolved, you said 'All of my drivers are up do date', make sure you have the latest Studio driver 552.22, Vegas - Help - Check for driver updates - at the top of the screen will help update it.

PS, I had Adobe for a while so understand most peoples frustration with Vegas, the Vegas team are working on it & are making improvements but I'm sorry I'm on Vegas's side of the fence with this, this is a user PC problem or as @RogerS wrote in your other post this may be your media that's the problem.

This seems to be a problem that MXCompoundplug in build 300 doesn't support your media.

Can you trying playing your media file several times in the timeline without transtions? If this glitch also occurs during this process, it can be determined that it is the problem of build 300 MXCompoundplug, but not transitions.

No, no, no :) I heard a whole life "there is your problem", "your computer problem" or "your files problem". My computer is good, my files are from well-known Canon professional cameras. The only one problem is stability of Vegas software.
I am working on Vegas for 19 years. Can you imagine this? And ALWAYS it was fault of Vegas bug. Like in my previous case. If you didn't heard... a previous problem of mine is solved. Guess what happened?

@Vegas21_user Please be respectful. I have been working with VEGAS for 10 years and tested almost every update to the program over the past 5 years.

I had trouble following your video without any audio and it wasn't clear if it was an adjustment event or just a shrunken track. I am aware of the bug with adjustment events.

Normally such issues are related to media and those are also bugs in my eyes. There are currently glitches with MXF files from Canon professional cameras and also with files with a high number of reference frames from Canon cameras.

For issues that I don't really consider a VEGAS problem are media with variable framerates with extreme variations (saw one with variable framerate from 2-1000fps) or certain computer made frankenfiles where headers of the container and contents don't match, etc.

(Also this thread category "VEGAS Effects" is also for a different program, like AfterEffects)

The quality of this video is 720p only - what makes it impossible to read some of the details really.

Well, and I am user since Vegas Pro 4. And? Does that help you to resolve your issue?

This is ranting only. Have a look to the community rules. Either you allow us to try to help you - then stop your ranting and work with us. Or continue to rant, what we will not allow here.

SO, what you could do - since your test project seems to have only generated media in use -is to compress that in a zip-file - both your project file and the two media files. Make an upload, and give us the link. And then we could test this project with your media on our machines, and - if we can repro - discuss it with the development team. Up to you.

Unfortunately I had to repair it and SAVED it. So A bug we can only see on a YouTube movie.
What a pity. My project file with this bug is gone.

@Vegas21_user So are you saying you can't reproduce this 'bug'? If you can't reproduce it how do you expect the Vegas team to fix it if it exists, esp since you've given pretty much 0 information about your media & project setting etc.. You've been asked in quite a few of your posts to upload MediaInfo but still nothing.

Vegas21_user wrote on 4/23/2024, 9:06 PM

I thought I saved project file with this error. Now I realized I had to repair it and then saved.
Everything is lost now.

What a pity. This topic can be closed.

@Vegas21_user If you repaired this Vegas 'bug' I'm sure the Vegas team & everyone else would be interested to know how you repaired their software?
