You also have to set the compositing mode on the parent track. Look for the button in the track header that looks like two overlapping green rectangles, the front one contains the Greek letter alpha. Click on that and from the popup menu choose Custom... That iwll bring open a dialog box that lets you choose and set up height maps, displacement maps, and bump maps.

Of course, I remember now - been a long time since I've used bump maps in Vegas.

Bump Maps are also in Video FX as a dragndrop video effect.

Interesting. I hadn't noticed that before. It works, but it uses the clip itself as the bump map. It doesn't let you use different media as the map.

That's what threw me at first, I used the Video FX version but that isn't mentioned in the help file. So I was trying to use it with a child track.
