Burn to DVD

I am using Movie Studio Platinum 12 on a high grade PC. I have made a 10 min. video of my grandson`s wedding. This is a mixture of video and stills. It burns perfectly to Blu-ray, but the Burn to DVD has problems. In two particular places the picture locks and the sound dissapears. One of these places is on the changeover of two still images, the other is in the middle of a short video.
Can anyone suggest a reason for this and a possible cure please?
Ron.

What method are you using to burn the project to a DVD? Are you burning directly from Movie Studio or are you porting the file to DVD Architect for authoring first?

If you are using DVD Architect, try creating Prepared Files rather than burning directly to a disc. This will allow you to test the output before you create your disc.

Most often problems like you describe are caused by using low quality discs (like Memorex) or burning them at too fast a speed.

If your Prepared Files play well, you can use a program like ImgBurn to burn the files to a disc at a slower speed and even verify them -- which will likely resolve all of your problems.

Hi Steve,
I am using Movie Studio to burn the DVDs but I will try the other methods that you suggest and various makes of DVD.
Thank you for the tips and I will be back if I am still in trouble.

I always prepare in DVD-A and burn in Nero. Not only is the Nero burn usually faster, but it also does a verify step afterward.
