burned Blu-Ray disc unstable

I finally rendered my large project (in 4 parts) and created a Blu-ray disc with all 4 parts on the disc (menu-based blu-ray disc).
The first time I played it on my Panasonic BD590 blu ray player, it played fine. The second time I played it, the disc started skipping. Then I couldn't get to the menu screen. Now it doesn't play at all. It doesn't even play in my computer using the LG blu-ray burner/player - the same device I used to burn the disc.
Has anyone else run into this problem? I thought I successfully FINALLY finished this project - but evidenlty I did not. !!!
What happened to this disc?
thanks for any help.

What brand disc? All discs are prone to problems but reputable brands are better than others.

Memorex

Try another brand like Verbatim.

Even the best brands occasionally have a dud disc of course. I've also heard people talk about bad batches too, but never struck it myself. Also bear in mind that the label on the packet is not necessarily the manufacturer. Some software will show what that is.

Well I just purchased a 25-pack of these discs online. Will try burning another.........but what an expensive "dud" if it's the disc!

IF it's not the disc itself, what else could it possibly be?

I guarantee you the verbatim disk will work. If they don't, then you may have a bd burner on it's way out.

I burned my first 25 piece spindle of Memorex BD-R and noticed no significant problems.

On the second 25 piece spindle of Memorex BD-R I've had the same failure scenario that you described. I have a Sony S-550 Blu-ray player. I had disks that would play all the way through successfully and then hang the player when I began to seek to specific chapters. The player was hung so bad I had to do a cold power-on-reset after one session. The disk failed a verify against the original image. During a number of these events, I burned the project to a BD-RE (Sony and TDK) and have never had any problems with the BD-RE. Thinking that my S-550 just doesn't play this particular media, I tried the same Memorex disks on a friend's BD player (Samsung) and she experienced the same failure.

I've had good success with Verbatim LTH, but they are branded (not printable) and the high contrast brand shows through a label, which I don't like to use anyway. Based on my experience, I would also recommend dumping the Memorex in favor of Verbatim MABL.
