Burning and Playing BD-R discs

OK boys & girls - I did it (sort of).

I got some Verbatim BD-RE discs (25GB, 2X) and burned my project to one of them and voila - The E770W played it right away. Gotta say even a older SD 16:9 project looks amazing!

So bottom line is it'll cost me more (the ten pack was around $40 with shipping) but at some point they'll come down in price for the 100 spindle (just paid 12.99 for 100 DVD-R's this past weekend at CompUSA).

Thanks to all for your help - I'll update this if I find any other playable solutions.

Birdcat, well done! Glad to see you got the Sony to play the BD-RE.

This is exactly where I got to (as I said earlier on the thread). At least the BD-RE solution is cheaper than a new system and you completely haven't wasted your money on it!

I spent a lot of time and money trying to see if I was doing something wrong with respect to the BD-R and the guys on the forum really tried to help but it's just the Sony player.
