Doubling the bitrate will produce much larger video files, as you know, dxdy -- but it's not going to give you a much better picture. Especially if your source video is AVCHD or some other compressed format.

Before you you invest too much time and effort into this, I'd recommend producing a couple of shrt test movies. Output them as prepared files on your computer and compare, side-by-side, the standard BluRay output with a BluRay boosting to 36. My guess is that you won't see any real difference in the playback.

And then of course there is the issue of whether or not BluRay players will even be able to play that bitrate -- and, if so, will you be able to see the difference on an HDTV.
