Burning DVD

I have assembled a menu-based DVD.
It includes three videos.
They play fine in preview.
But I'm having a heck of a time preparing and burning project to disk.
After I punch the "finish" button, I get a message that tells me:
"An error occurred while writing a file,. The reason for the error could not be determined."
Earlier it told me I didn't have enough space in temporary folder to prepare project.
So I created a folder in my "D" drive which has lots of room.
But then it tells me the new folder has stuff other than audio and video files.
Any thoughts---suggestions.
I'm stymied.

Many Thanks,

Dan

The destination folder that you specify in the prepare dialog must either contain no files/directories, or can only contain the directories AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS (and in turn, these directories should both be empty).

My questoin now is how do I find an appropriate file to prepare this project?
I've browsed, I've created folders but no place appears to be willing to take on this project. My "D" drive has tonnes of space but when i create a folder there it tells me there are things other that video and audio files.

Click on "Prepare DVD" then when you get to the screen that says "Make DVD - Select Folder" along the top of the window, click on Browse... - navigate to your D: drive and click "New Folder" - a new folder will be created with the name "New Folder" - you can change this name if you like. Then click OK and the Prepare Folder field should reflect the name of the folder you created. Then click "Finish"

if you're still getting an error after following this sequence, I've no other things to suggest.

Why do we have to prepare a folder? A new one? I've set those video and audio as empty folders and I came up with a blank recorded dvd.
Reading the post by ScottW, I got back to the screen that says prepare dvd. On the first screen, optimize, I had to click on help so as to be able to create a new folder. Why? Is there a bug with DVDA or is this the normal procedure? Anyway I ran out of dvd media. I'm gonna buy some more tomorrow to find out what went wrong (first time it's always the first time, ya know.... ;)

Just in case anybody is confused, Vegas alone does NOT burn DVD's or make any menu system. That's DVD Architech a SEPERATE application.

Questions about DVD-A should be posted to THAT forum, not this one.

You use use Vegas to make the MPEG-2 files. They can be saved anywhere in any folder you decide.

THEN you open these files in DVD Architech or a similar application that will complete the process, making a menu system (if desired) plus making the image files (what's needed) to get into a DVD format.
