Since there is a lot of experience among forum members with burning HD DVD (3x), perhaps someone will have some insight on how to solve my peculiar problem. I am able to burn DVD+RWs without problem. I encode in V7 or V8 at 25 mbps, 1920x1080i, from Vegas to m2v (MainConcept codec). These files are then prepared and burned using ULEAD DVD Movie Factory 6. They play without problem in my Toshiba HDA2.
The difficulty arises when I burn the same files to DVD+R. The maximum bit rate that will play on the A2 is 8 mbps, far too low for good 1920 x 1080i viewing. Others have claimed no problem with DVD+R. Is my problem with my burner, or is there something I can do short of installing a new burner to make good DVD+Rs?
Thoughts and insights from any of you who have experience with HD DVD and the Toshiba A2 would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
(The DVD+RWs blanks I have been using are Memorex; the DVD+Rs are TDK and T-Y.)
