Buttons show a black see threw color. The buttons look fine it is the color that show threw the button.. I have tried to change the background color and no change.. I understand that it the video starts out with a black then the buttons will show the black in the center. SO,,, if I start the video wih a second or two of white,,,,, will the button show white.. The video I am working on is a wedding video.. Do not want black in the center of the buttons..

Check my website out. I am a former underwater photographer for Jacques Cousteau and love to share my photographs. Click on the new photographs buttons for some shots I just made. www.GladdenPhotographs.com ..

Hard to know for certain as I can't access your website.
Aside from that it seems to me that you've got something happening due to a track not being at 100% opacity.

pretty incoherent really....

and you should at least get your website address right - it's ....photography, NOT photographs.

you don't list equipment, version, etc., so any help that might be forthcoming is rather stymied to start with....

You can adjust what frame of your video shows in the button if you are talking about DVDA.

Hello Ushere, My website is: www.gladdenphotographs.com .

For sure.... I see my server is down. They have been having some trouble and are moving to a Raid 5 system. He is a good man and I trust him 100%. Oregon Hosting,, JC..

Now... I am only two weeks in to Vegas Pro 9 . I am using a PC windown xp. and laptop with Vista.

The buttons: If I us a button like the heart button.. The heart look fine,, it is the center of the button that is black. This is what I am learning about this. The button sees the first part of the video,,,, first few frams, and set up the color to what ever that. This is from Vegas techs. If you start of with a black clip,, which I do. the button with show black. Thus: I was going to put in a white clip first and then go to a black clip. Then I am thinking How can I just make it transprarent so the button will show to what ever is under the button.

SO,,,, how do I make a button for a wedding that does not show black in the center of the button.

Thank You.

Oh, you're talking about a DVD menu button, I thought you were talking about the buttons on the clothing.

You really need to read the DVDA manual because how the buttons are built is fairly complex. A button can contain a still image or a video. It also has a frame and a mask. All the elements can interact in different ways as well.

If reading the manual doesn't help then I'd recommend one of the VASST training DVDs. Designing DVD menus and buttons can take as much work as the editing the movie.

As I stated before but maybe not clearly. The default for image in the button is the first frame of the video (which for many people is black). I am not in front of my editing box at the moment so can't give exact directions, but there is a control under 'button properties' where you can control which frame in your video is used for a stll pic in the button or what portion of the video in 'animated' is used. You do not have to change anything in your video to get the button picture that you want.

PS I also cannot access your web site.

PSS Accessed it by correcting your address. There is no "New photographs' button.

I Terry , Thank you for your help... I did get what you said and I see that the first fram sets the default to what ever the first fram is... I am going to look for the button under button properties and see what I can see.

Now: my website,,, I looked for my website and I could not find it either... Check on it.. Yes,,, my server is down.. They are changing over to a RADE 5 system.. Should be back up soon,,,,,, I hope..

Thank you everone for all the help,, This is the first time to get on a forum..

The button you seem to be using has a mask.
1.
a) If you want to use an image inside the frame from a piece of video select the video and then use the Start Time slider to select where in the video you want the image to be taken from.
Alternatively you can enter the timecode directly.
Another option is to change the media to a still image that you wish to use.
b) In DVDA select the button and then under the Media Tab change mask to None. The centre of button with now show whatever is behind it.

2.
Select a different button.
Click the Buttons tab, you'll see a choice of heart buttons one of which is a solid heart.
