Buying VV3 Online

I just bought the vv3 upgrade from vf2, and ordered the boxed version. However, I would also like to download it now. Do they allow this? I did email support about it, but have a feeling my boxed version will arrive before I hear from them! :( But, I'm also assuming that I will have to hear from them anywayz, because they will have to give me a serial number correct? If this is the case, oh well. Guess I'll hafta wait! But if it is possible, what do I do??

Thanx!

Download the demo version. I think the only thing that you can't do with it is MPEG encoding (you need a valid registration number for it to work). By the time demo expires, you should have your boxed version. If you need more help, just call them. I was able to get right through to them when I had a problem.

Also, Im just curious as to why you bought the boxed version directly from Sonic Foundry. I have found that BestBuy typically sells the boxed version for about half of the price that Sonic Foundry sells it for. At least this was the case for version 2.0 (which sold for $149 - $199 at BestBuy). Maybe this is no longet the case for version 3.

Wow. You mean to say it was at best buy for 150? or 200? Not as an upgrade?? Well, doesn't matter really, cuz I only paid 150 for the upgrade from video factory 2.0, so thats kewl. I'm happy with it! But yeah, I'll download the demo then. And just use that until the boxed one arrives.

Thanx!

Yep. I bought the Full Vegas Video Version 2 at Best Buy for $149 about 6 months ago, then bought the upgrade to Version 3 directly from Sonic Foundry.

Take a look through these forums. You might want to make sure that you uninstall Video Factory first. I thought that I read about some possible conflicts. And as far I as know, the demo includes everything that you get with the boxed version except the ability to encode/decode MPEG2 and some of the example projects and video/audio samples.
