Does this look familiar to anyone? I'm editing on the same computer I have been editing on, but for some reason when I am trying to start VEGAS 5b today I am getting this error:

16 bit Windows Subsystem

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
CLOSE or IGNORE

I have NOT installed any new software or changed any hardware. Any thoughts?

I have not yet checked out the link DaveT2 posted but this works:

C:\windows\repair\ is a copy of the file, copy that file to the C:\windows\system32\ folder

Now I'm off to see what the link says.

edit-- The link is saying to do a bit more than I feel comfortable with. It involves command prompt... etc... etc. Copying the AUTOEXEC.EXE file into the system32 folder is a lot simpler. Apparently there are some files that are commonly known in XP for getting corrupt. This is one of them. I was told they provide you with this repair folder for cases like this.

Thanks DaveT2.
