I'm sure this has been asked and answered many times, but please humor me and allow yet another inquiry into this. I am currently using VMS Platinum 7.0 for my editing and all the video I have captured has obviously been SD. I forsee that most of my work in the immediate future will remain to be SD video but I would like to begin to venture into HD as well. I am considering upgrading to Vegas Pro and I am also looking into camcorder options.
I would prefer to find a camcorder that is capable of capturing either SD or HD and I would prefer it to be a MiniDV (unless you can convince me otherwise). I don't have a problem with a good used camera in order to keep cost down.
Any recommendations? Any thoughts about the Canon GL2 or other Canon cameras? What about some of the Sony cameras? I would prefer to stay somewhere in the $1000 to max of $2000 range if at all possible.
